February 23 – Psalm 25:1-10
Feb 23rd, 2012 by Sherri
In the communion service, the Lord Jesus says, “Do this in remembrance of me.”  So do we?  When you, “Do This in Remembrance of Me”, you remember the Love, you remember the grace, you remember the mercy, and when they all come together you remember the promise which is everlasting life  and the peace of GOD.
Prayer:  Dear loving  and gracious GOD, continue to help us in our faith walk, so that our remembrance may be true and our service lasting.  Show us how your sacrifice brought mercy to the law, so that our remembrance may be true and full of understanding.

It’s Ash Wednesday today. The beginning of Lent.  We are encouraged to be in prayer and study scripture, increase giving and acts of mercy.  We are to give our tithes, pray and fast in secret.  These actions are to be known only to God.  We are not to be boastful, but to be humble in doing each of these deeds. This allows us to treasure what God has done for us and magnify our relationship with Him.

How will you magnify your relationship with God during this Lenten season?

While God’s love is unchanging, God’s love includes a willingness to change course when we are willing to repent and focus on God.  This is the essence of forgiveness.  God wants to change our hearts and renew our hope.  God forgives us and forgets our sins, unlike people who may forgive but seldom forget any transgression.  As you prepare for the Lenten season, focus on God’s unwavering love and the freedom that God’s forgiveness brings.

Each day of our lives we have floods . Some are small, some overcoming. They are the floods of loneliness , heartache , marriage problems, debt , and work relations. All threaten totake us under. Our faith in God is with us  to help us swim out these rushing waters.       We must take a stand knowing God will hold back the flood whatever it  may be. God has a rainbow in our sky, but we have to hold on to the faith – the rainbow for us.

The transfiguration was a foretaste of Jesus’ glory and His pre-eminent place that is His as the Beloved Son & the soon coming King. The disciples looked and they saw no other man, they only saw Jesus. Jesus is the central person. He desires to be the center of our lives. God, let us taste and see that the Lord is good. Amen.
