While I and many others around the world are anxious to see what will happen with the NBA I have to remind myself that there are more important issues. I understand people wanting to get paid what they are worth and I’m in complete agreement with that. However, in the larger scheme of things the NBA strike is not a major issue for players and owners. It’s really just billionaires at odds with millionaires. The real victims of the strike are the men and women who work in the arenas around the country who don’t make millions nor do they make hundreds of thousands of dollars. They work to keep their heads above water.
Meanwhile there is a strike going on here in Kansas City at Honeywell. In this case it’s executives making hundreds of thousands against workers who are trying to maintain in this rough economy. On top of all that there are protests all over the country against corporate greed. We truly do live in a society where the rich get richer and the poor get poorer. It appears that the love of money really does cause all kinds of problems.
My hope is that those who really need the income, the arena employees and laborers at Honeywell, and the working class will be blessed and God will make a way for them. Jesus said, “The first shall be last and the last shall be first.”
blessings for a harvest for those in need,
