Strike
Oct 28th, 2011 by DR3

While I and many others around the world are anxious to see what will happen with the NBA I have to remind myself that there are more important issues. I understand people wanting to get paid what they are worth and I’m in complete agreement with that.  However, in the larger scheme of things the NBA strike is not a major issue for players and owners. It’s really just billionaires at odds with millionaires. The real victims of the strike are the men and women who work in the arenas around the country who don’t make millions nor do they make hundreds of thousands of dollars. They work to keep their heads above water.

Meanwhile there is a strike going on here in Kansas City at Honeywell. In this case it’s executives making hundreds of thousands against workers who are trying to maintain in this rough economy. On top of all that there are protests all over the country against corporate greed. We truly do live in a society where the rich get richer and the poor get poorer. It appears that the love of money really does cause all kinds of problems.

My hope is that those who really need the income, the arena employees and laborers at Honeywell,  and the working class will be blessed and God will make a way for them. Jesus said, “The first shall be last and the last shall be first.”

blessings for a harvest for those in need,

Revival
Oct 13th, 2011 by DR3

We had a a great revival this week. Pastor Brooks gave us “Lesson Number One” from Jesus. Pastor Warnock taught us about “A Holy Hook Up.” We were blessed with two anointed men of God.

We need revival from time to time. It helps to re-energize and re-awaken our faith. It is my hope that revival did and will take place in your soul. May God bless, preserve, and keep you.

BMCR

I’m in Oklahoma City for the South Central Jurisdictional BMCR. We have been talking about how to save some of our African American congregations from closing. BMCR or Black Methodists for Church Renewal has been working for the rights of African American churches in the denomination for decades.

As we close out I am bring the Word from on high. My hope is to help this organization look forward to new and brighter things not getting stuck in the past.

That’s a message for all of us. No matter what we did in the past. No matter how many things we accomplished. God is a progressive God who is always looking to take us from where we are to a better place.  Don’t miss where God is trying to take because you are too busy looking at your past achievements.
