I can’t believe that educated wealthy people are avoiding real issues with this birthing issue. They questioned whether or not the president was born in the U.S. All sane Americans should have no doubt since the president released his birth certificate. However, some people will still question it. Is that craziness or is it racism?

Good Friday
Apr 21st, 2011 by DR3

I’m sure many people have wondered and maybe even asked why do we call it Good Friday. After all, Jesus was killed on that day. What’s good about it? He suffered an agonizing death. Perhaps it should be called Bad Friday.

The reason we call it Good Friday is because of what happened as a result of Jesus dying on the cross. He died and our sins died right along with him. It was on the cross that Jesus displayed His love for the world by dying for our sins. Jesus was the sacrifice and the blood He shed was the price for our forgiveness, freedom, and reconciliation with God the Father. That’s why it’s called Good Friday. Jesus paid the price that we could not pay for ourselves.

Holy Week
Apr 15th, 2011 by DR3

Palm Sunday marks the beginning of the Christian Holy Week. The week is holy because it is the last week of Jesus’ earthly life before the resurrection.

If you examine HIS last week you will discover that Jesus was very strategic in what he did. He cleared out the temple, established what we call the Lord’s Supper, and shared valuable lessons with HIS apostles. I believe we ought to be intentional with regards to how we spend Holy Week. It is a time of prayer, reflection, commemoration, and it concludes with celebration.

We have a lot going on at St. James for Holy Week: Tuesday-Bible Study, Wednesday-Hour of Power (The last 24 Hours of Jesus’ life) Thursday-Seder Meal, Friday-The Seven Last Words from the Cross, Saturday-Easter Egg Hunt. Sunday we will have the biggest celebration of the year as we commemorate our savior’s resurrection.
