A Great Need
Feb 10th, 2011 by DR3

I’m in Washington D.C. this week to meet with officials from the Department of Agriculture. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss the possibility of a Grocery store in the urban core of Kansas city.

If you took a look at the inner cities around America it would be easy to see there are a lot of basic amenities missing. What you will find are a lot of liquor stores and pawn shops. The one stable business you can find in the black community is the Church. That’s why the Church must begin empowering the community with job training, economic development, and offering financial literacy programs. If there is going to be a change in our cities across America I believe the Church must play a critical role.

Long Week

Missouri was hit by massive snow storm that brought many cities and towns to a stand still. All of the snow caused school districts to cancel school for several days. I didn’t mind staying home with the kids the first day. The second day wasn’t too bad but by the third day I was ready for them to go back. If the Superintendent of the Lee’s Summit School District had canceled school today I would have dropped my kids off at her house! I guess that’s just another example of how anything in excess can be hazardous for your physical or emotional well-being. Well, everything except Jesus. You can NEVER get enough Jesus! Make sure you get your daily dose of the savior morning, noon and night.  I know I will need HIM if we have another snow storm!  LOL!
