I’m back in Little Rock for Philander Smith College’s board of trustee meeting. Before I checked in to my hotel I stopped by Arkansas Baptist College (Philander’s biggest rival) to get a tour of the campus from one of my classmates, who now works at the college. Baptist, as we Philanderians use to call it, looks completely different. Then, I got in the car, headed to the hotel, and passed by Philander and marveled how it looks nothing like the campus I use to run. Nothing looks the same with the times. The way we communicate has changed, the way we advertise, and how we are entertained has changed. If you aren’t willing to upgrade the way you do things it’s very easy to get left behind.

When it comes to ministry, I believe our methods have to change but the message of Jesus Christ must always remain the same.
