August is my favorite month. My birthday is in August as well as my wife’s birthday. On top of birthdays my wife and I were married in August. My extended family gathers for family reunion in August and my household takes a vacation in August.

My family is not unique, many of you squeeze vacations in before school starts back up. This is why we are going to one worship celebration each Sunday in August. Our hope is that we can save money as well as have a full sanctuary each week. A full sanctuary enhances the worship experience. I pray that August will be a month of great worship and a mighty moves of God. Our intent is to fill up with spiritual power as we prepare for our fall schedules of school, soccer, football, and PTA.

Just like most of you my family and I spend time on vacation in the summer. We generally go to our family reunion with our extended family but we also spend time out of town on our own. I know most of you probably have plans for the rest of the summer and I hope you all have a blast.

Since so many of us vacation in the summer St. James will have one worship celebration each Sunday in August and Labor Day Weekend at 10am. Sunday School will run from 8:45 am to 9:45 am.  On the second Sunday of September we will resume our normal scheducle of two worship celebrations one at 8 am and the other at 11 am.

I hope you all enjoy the rest of the summer and I pray you will contiue to get your praise on here at St. James.

This past weekend my family got together for BBQ and fireworks. I was glad we had an opportunity to spend time in the Lord’s House.

Because of all the rain there weren’t a lot fireworks. However, our one worship celebration was a Spirit-filled experience. I can’t wait for this Sunday where I will continue “The Bible’s Biggest Bloopers” preaching series. I hope to see you. Plan on a great time in the Lord.
